(Scroll down for video) A family in Ohio, is mourning the loss of their young son after he committed suicide.

Two days before his death, the boy’s mother, Cornelia Reynolds, was called to the school, where the principal told her that her son fainted.

The mother then took her 8-year-old son Gabriel “Gabe” Taye home from the Carson Elementary School in Cincinnati.

Taye vomited at home before his mother took him to a doctor, who said that the boy had the stomach flu.

The 8-year-old boy stayed home from school for one day. However the next day, hours after returning home from school, Taye was found hanging in his bedroom by his heartbroken mother.

Police began investigating the death, and they reviewed school surveillance videos, which revealed the shocking incident that occurred before the young boy committed suicide.

According to police, at the time, officials told them that there was no evidence of bullying and that Gabe had simply fainted.

However, surveillance videos show that Taye was beaten by his classmates in the school bathroom. As he was lying on the floor unconscious for over 7 minutes, other students kicked him.

Surveillance videos show that the abuse finally ended when the principal and the school nurse came into the bathroom and revived him.

However, the principal never told the mother the truth about the bullying and instead, chose to protect the bullies by claiming that he fainted.

Reynolds was shocked by the new finding. She now hired an attorney to get answers and to hold those involved responsible.

Coroner Lakshmi Sammarco asked Cincinnati police to treat the boy’s death as a homicide.

Taye is survived by his mother Cornelia Reynolds, his father, Benyam Taye, and his sister, Eden Taye.
