A foolish criminal was arrested after calling police to complain that someone stole his stash of marijuana from his hotel room, according to police in Wyoming.

The Casper Police Department said that they have arrested Eric Shawn Jarrin, 20, after showing police his stash of concentrated cannabis extract in his hotel room.

Jarrin has been charged with one count of controlled substance possession. He was booked into the Natrona County Detention Center, pending bail hearing.

According to the police investigation, Jarrin from Colorado, was living at the Motel 6 located on Wilkins Circle.

On Tuesday around 2:00 p.m., Jarrin complained to the hotel management that the housekeeper stole marijuana from his room.

Jarrin then called police to press charges against the housekeeper for theft. When police arrived at the scene, Jarrin showed them a marijuana medical license from Colorado.

Police then asked Jarrin if he had additional marijuana in his room. Jarrin led police into his room, and showed them liquid cannabis.

Police wrote a report about the stolen marijuana and arrested Jarrin at the scene. As the officers were getting ready to leave, James Rathe, 27, walked by.

Officers who noticed a strong smell of marijuana, asked Rathe whether he smoked weed. Rathe said that he smoked weed and had some more marijuana in his room.

He led police into his room and showed them the weed. Rathe was arrested at the scene. No charges were filed against the housekeeper.
