Police announced on Facebook that a wanted fugitive died while fleeing from police.

37-year-old Kevin Marcus Robertson of Modesto, California, was killed in a one vehicle crash in the 100 block of E. Andy Devine Avenue in Arizona.

Police said that at about 9:30 p.m., the Kingman Police Department was contacted by authorities in Modesto, who had information that Robertson, who was wanted on a felony warrant for child molestation issued by the Modesto Police Department, was in the Kingman area.

It was reported that Robertson was “despondent, suicidal and believed to be armed with a handgun.”

A KPD officer located Robertson and his vehicle in the parking lot of a business.

Robertson refused the officers’ commands and he drove off, leading police on a high speed chase.

Robertson’s vehicle reached speeds in excess of 95 miles per hour. Robertson’s vehicle struck the Power House Visitor Center sign post.

Robertson was killed in the crash. Police are investigating the accident. Kingman Police Capt. Rusty Cooper said that at this point, it is unknown if Robertson crashed intentionally.

Robertson was reportedly wanted for molesting children who lived in his home and were under 10 years old.
