(Scroll down for video) Police in Florida, are warning parents not to send their children alone with drivers who they don’t know.

The warning came after an Uber driver forced a 14-year-old girl to perform sex acts on him, officials at the Osceola County Sheriff's Office said.

The victim was spending time with her boyfriend, and when she was ready to go home, she used the Uber app to call an Uber in Kissimmee.

27-year-old David Pena-Melo, who is married, arrived to take the girl to her aunt's home. He told the girl to sit in the front seat.

He then began making sexual advances towards her, deputies said. He then drove past her destination and to a wooded area, where police said he forced her to perform a sex act.

The victim reported the incident, and Peno-Melo was arrested on a charge of sexual battery of a minor.

Detectives said that Pena-Melo admitted to the sexual activity, but he claimed that he thought the victim was at least 18 years old, deputies said.

Osceola County Sheriff's Office Capt. Jacob Ruiz said that the victim never told Pena-Melo that she was an adult.
