13-year-old boy Nathan Wylie of Dayton, Ohio, died of a suspected heroin overdose after finding drugs that allegedly belonged to his father, who still has a previous drug-related case pending, authorities said.

40-year-old Robert Wylie was arrested on suspicion of child endangerment. His girlfriend, Tina Davis, 37, was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving and possession of drugs.

Nathan was found unconscious by his father and his co-worker. They quickly carried the boy to a nearby fire station.

According to police, the co-worker told firefighters that Robert was high on drugs and “the boy got into his stuff.”

Emergency workers administered four milligrams of Narcan, which is used to treat people who overdose on drugs, but the boy did not respond.

Nathan was taken to a nearby hospital, where he died.

Police are waiting for the coroner’s toxicology report to determine what drugs the child took before his death.

Another child was removed from the home.

Wylie and Davis are no stranger to the police. In February 2016, they were arrested for child endangerment, possession of drug abuse instruments and drug paraphernalia.
