People in India, were shocked to see a baby breastfeeding from a dead woman, who was lying next to train tracks.

Madhya Pradesh police have launched an investigation to learn how the woman, who was not identified, died.

On Wednesday around 5:30 a.m., people heard a 14-month-old boy crying near the train tracks at the Damoh railway station.

When they went to investigate, they were shocked to see the boy crying and trying to get milk from his mother’s breasts.

The 35-year-old woman appeared to be dead.

Blood was running out of her mouth and ears, indicating that she might have been hit by a train in middle of the night while attempting to cross the tracks.

The Government Railway Police took custody of the body, and officers are awaiting the results of an autopsy to determine the definitive cause of death.

The boy was taken to a nearby hospital, where doctors determined that he was suffering from a cold. He was discharged to the custody of the state after he appeared to be in good condition.

Police urged the family to come forward and claim the child.
