A college professor is facing many years behind bars after being caught on video using a metal object to beat people over the head during a rally in support of President Donald Trump, according to police in California.

The Berkeley Police Department said that they have arrested 28-year-old Eric Clanton, after being accused of using a bike U-lock to injure three Trump supporters.

Clanton has been charged with three counts of assault with a deadly weapon and assault causing great bodily injury. He was booked into the Berkeley Jail, and his bail has been set at $200,000.

According to the police investigation, Clanton had been a professor at the Diablo Valley College.

Last month, Clanton put a mask on his face and joined a pro Trump rally at the Civic Center Park on Martin Luther King Jr. Way.

At some point, Trump supporters clashed with anti-fascist, or “antifa,” activists. During the clashes, Clanton used a bike U-lock to split open the heads of three Trump supporters.

The attacks were caught on video, and handed over to the police. However, until this week, police refused to arrest the professor despite having the solid video evidence.
