(Scroll down for video) The owner of a Chinese restaurant in New York, said that he and his customers have been harassed by a 12-year-old boy numerous times.

Now, that boy was arrested for violently beating an elderly woman as she was sitting on her porch after 12:30 p.m.

Police in Brooklyn, have arrested the 12-year-old boy who has not been named due to his age, after he approached the woman at her home on West Seventh Street in Gravesend, on Saturday.

The boy punched the 80-year-old woman in the face with a clenched fist, causing a black eye and swelling.

The woman told police that the boy attacked her twice before. One time, he wielded a metal rod and another time he tried to light her coat on fire while she was on her own property.

The boy has been detained and he now faces charges of assault and menacing, police said.

The owner of the nearby Chinese restaurant on 86th Street, said that the boy came into the eatery and demanded that customers give him money.

He also spit at customers who refused to hand over money, and he stole about $15 from the container that held the tips.

A restaurant manager said he took pity on the boy, who was out on the streets late at night, and he gave him free food for several weeks before his arrest. The manager reported that he was nasty to a customer who refused to give him money.

Police now suspect that the troubled 12-year-old boy is responsible for two robberies that were carried out at gunpoint.
