(Scroll down for video) People in New Jersey, are angry after learning that an employee of a popular restaurant wrote “cops pigs” on the receipt of a police officer.

The incident unfolded on Saturday, when the police officer went to buy food at the Romanelli’s Garden Cafe in Galloway.

The officer bought food and when he got the receipt, he was shocked to see that the employee wrote cops are pigs in English and Spanish.

A photo of the receipt was shared on social media sites, where it went viral.

In response, the owner of the restaurant announced that the employee responsible for writing cops pigs on the receipt was no longer an employee at Romanelli’s Garden Cafe.

“Good afternoon, I wanted to reach to everyone and apologize about an earlier post about a receipt that was handed over to police officer.

“I find this very gross and disrespectful. We have reprimanded the employees involved. We support our local police department and all forms of law enforcement. I am the owner, I have grown up in this town and I have always relied on the local police department to keep myself and my family and friends safe.

“I would appreciate if you could understand our frustrating situation. We would like to just let everyone know we do not condone this type of behavior here. If you have any questions please feel free to reach out to me, Drew Huggard,” the owner of Romanelli’s Garden Cafe wrote on Facebook.

“Yes we handled this with termination,” Huggard said in response to a complaint on the company's Facebook page.
