(Scroll down for video) A teenager is being held in without bail after stabbing and killing an Uber driver in an unprovoked attack.

16-year-old Eliza Wasni of Chicago, Illinois, took an Uber to Walmart, where police said she was seen on video taking a machete and walking out the store without paying.

She then called another Uber to take her to another location.

However, two minutes into the trip, Wasni began hacking and stabbing the driver, 34-year-old Grant Nelson.

He stopped in front of an apartment building, where he screamed for help. Lincolnwood police responded to the scene at about 3:20 a.m. on Tuesday. They found Nelson, 34, of Wilmette with multiple stab wounds.

He was rushed to a hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. Meanwhile, the 16-year-old girl drove away with the car.

She then struck a median and ran off. Police officers found Wasni hiding behind a nearby office building with two weapons that are believed to have been used in the stabbing.

Wasni has been charged as an adult with first-degree murder.
