Drug dealer tells police 20 packages of heroin belonged to 5-year-old boy

A drug dealer told police that the large of amount of heroin that was in his possession was taken from a 5-year-old boy in order to teach him a lesson about possessing illegal drugs, according to police in New York.

The Syracuse Police Department said that they have arrested 28-year-old Matthew W. Derocha, after being accused of possessing 20 envelopes filled with heroin.

Derocha has been charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminally using drug paraphernalia.

He was booked into the Onondaga County jail, and his bond has been set at $50,000.

According to the criminal complaint, Derocha was driving a Grand Prix in the 300 block of Gifford Street, when police noticed a scale used to weigh drugs in the back seat of his vehicle.

Police pulled him over at around 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Police searched the vehicle and found 20 envelopes that tested positive for heroin.

Derocha told police that he took away the drugs from a 5-year-old boy and was teaching him a lesson about possessing controlled substances.

Police also found a box of envelopes used to package illegal drugs and cell phones in the vehicle.
