(Scroll down for video) A toddler of New York, is in serious condition at a hospital after his angry mother pushed him down a flight of stairs.

26-year-old Jessica Mixon was arrested after witnesses saw her pushing her 2-year-old son down a flight of stairs at a Bronx subway station.

Investigators believe that Mixon, was angry that her child’s father was breaking up with her. Witnesses reported hearing her screaming and arguing with the boy’s father about a breakup over the phone.

In a fit of rage, she pushed the stroller down the steps of the 149th Street and Grand Concourse Station in Melrose.

Witnesses said that at 2:30 p.m., Mixon threw the stroller with the baby strapped inside, down the flight of stairs, and she just stood there and watched her baby bleeding.

A witness said that the mother was “cursing and saying that she cannot do this anymore,” while leaning on a wall without helping her injured son.

The baby suffered cuts to the back of his head, to his eyes and face. Emergency workers took the boy to Lincoln Hospital, where he is said to be in serious but stable condition.

Mixon was taken to Bronx Lebanon Hospital for a psychological evaluation. She now faces charges of reckless endangerment and reckless assault on a child.
