Domestic violence shelter worker beat her own son with leather belt until it broke

A woman who worked at a domestic violence shelter and was an advocate for victims, has been accused of beating her own young son with a belt, according to police in Michigan.

The Pinckney Police Department said that they have arrested 28-year-old Ashley Nicole Bell, after being accused of beating her 9-year-old son with a belt until it broke.

Bell has been charged with child abuse and domestic violence.

She was booked into jail, and her bail has been set at $150,000.

According to the police investigation, Bell worked at a domestic violence shelter in its finance department.

She also volunteered as a domestic violence advocate.

Witnesses told police that they reported Bell numerous times to the Child Protective Services for abusing her 9-year-old son.

Child Protective Services did not take any action against Bell.

Recently, Bell became upset with her child. She grabbed a leather belt and beat him until it broke. Witnesses reported the abuse to the police and Bell was arrested.
