A man was arrested after he threatened to harm a Holiday Inn worker in Florida, after she declined his sexual advances.

The man from North Carolina, was arrested after police said that he tried to pay the hotel employee to have sex with him and then threatened to release his dog to attack her when she turned him down.

According to the arrest report, Monroe County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Matthew Corry responded to the Holiday Inn Express & Suites near mile marker 54 in Marathon at 4:20 a.m.

There he found a “hysterical and shaking” 19-year-old Osmin Lindsay.

She told police that 35-year-old Robert Meadows, who was drunk, offered her $20 to come with him to his room. Lindsay told police that when she declined, Meadows warned her that he was in the military and that he killed before.

Meadows returned a few minutes later with his white pit bull, which then jumped to the front desk with its paws.

Lindsay ran into the back office, closed the door and called 911. Meadows then began knocking on the office door, according to the report.

Lindsay told Meadows that she had called the police, so he left. The officer said that he found Meadows walking in the hallway. He was drunk and unable to explain what happened.

Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Deputy Becky Herrin said that Meadows was arrested and charged with assault.
