A woman was banned from flying on Air France after she slapped a female check-in staff member in frustration when she arrived late for her flight.

The woman who has not been named, was at the airport with her husband and child when the incident occurred.

The 36-year-old woman, who is a PhD student at a prestigious university in Wuhan, China, bought a ticket to Paris, France.

However, she arrived late to the airport and she was informed that check-in for her flight had closed 15 minutes earlier.

The PhD student became furious and demanded to be checked in because she needed to get to an important conference.

The female staff member informed the mother that she can either take a later flight or get a refund for her family’s tickets.

She begged to be allowed on the flight, but the staff member refused to budge. The angry mother walked over to her and slapped her three times in the face.

The Air France employee then began to cry. The PhD student was arrested and has since been sentenced to 10 days in jail. She was blacklisted from Air France flights.
