Man run over by speeding car on highway while trying to retrieve dumped heroin from road

A man who desperately tried to get back his dumped heroin, was killed by a speeding car, according to police in Missouri.

St. Louis police said that the incident unfolded on Sunday around 1:00 p.m., on the Interstate 55.

According to the police investigation, a group of friends were traveling in a car on Interstate 55, when an argument broke out.

One of the men threw out heroin from the car window, and it landed on the road. A few moments later, the group of friends came back to the scene.

Two men got out of their car and ran into the road to retrieve the dumped heroin. A speeding car ran over the 33-year-old man who was attempting to get the heroin.

The driver who ran over the victim, did not stop at the scene.

Police recovered the stash of heroin from the shoulder of the highway.

The victim was rushed to the hospital in critical condition. Police are looking for the hit and run driver, bit so far, no arrests have been made.
