Police in the United Arab Emirates, managed to track down two tourists who preyed on a man and robbed him.

Police said that the two men pretended to be a woman online and lured the victim to a hotel room, where they robbed him.

The defendants, who are 31 and 33-years-old, came to Dubai, from Nigeria.

They used WhatsApp with a profile picture of a beautiful woman to communicate with a tourist from Portugal.

The men pretended to be a woman who was willing to have sex with the victim for money.

When he arrived at the hotel room, a woman opened the door. Once he went inside, the victim was confronted by the two men.

They forced the victim to strip naked while he was recorded.

The pair assaulted the victim and threatened to post the video of him online if he did not hand over his money and credit cards.

The man did as he was told, and he was then locked into the bathroom.

When the thieves left, the victim called police. The suspects stole Dh2,500 ($680) in cash and they used the victim’s credit card to buy Dh7,000 ($1,900) worth of items.

Police managed to apprehend the suspects through the documents they used to book the hotel room.

The defendants denied charges of theft, sexual assault and breaching the modesty of a person when they appeared at the Dubai Criminal Court.

However, both of them were convicted of all charges. They were sentenced to one year in jail followed by deportation.
