(Scroll down for video) A couple allowed their daughter to be hands-on at the birth of her new brother.

12-year-old Jacee Dellapena of Mississippi, asked her mother to be allowed to go along to the hospital when she went into labor.

Her mother and stepfather, Zack and Dede Carraway, decided to allow her to join the special moment.

While the mother was in labor, Jacee was very supportive. When it was time for the baby to be born, Obstetrician Dr. Walter Wolfe asked Jacee if she wanted to help with the delivery.

Jacee was overjoyed. She put on scrubs and latex gloves just like the doctor.

The doctor held her hands and guided Jacee throughout the entire process, including the cutting of the umbilical cord.

Zack took photos of the delivery, which included his daughter’s reaction while helping her baby brother during birth, and they were shared on ZackNdede Carraway’s Facebook page with the caption “I have the most amazing doctor!”

Dede gave birth to a seven-pound, six-ounce baby named Cayson. Zack said that he had been looking forward to cutting the umbilical cord, but his stepdaughter “earned the honor” so he allowed her to do it instead.

Dede said that her daughter wanted to be part of the birth when her middle child was born, but at that time, the couple felt that she was too young to do so.
