(Scroll down for video) A street cleaner in Florida, was killed in a freak accident while doing his job.

Investigators from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, are trying to determine exactly what happened and what caused the tragic accident.

A witnesses told police that he heard someone screaming for help in the parking lot of a McDonald’s restaurant at San Jose Boulevard and Loretta Road in Mandarin, but by the time he got to the truck, the man was unconscious.

The witness immediately called for help. However, when emergency service workers arrived, there was nothing they could do to save the life of the street sweeper, and he was pronounced dead.

Investigators believe that the man who was driving the street sweeper, got out to clear something from the machine. While doing so, he somehow became entangled and he was killed.

Police have not yet released his name because they first want to notify his family. Sgt. Mark Musser of the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said that the man was in his late 40s or early 50s.

He added that they are reviewing surveillance videos from the area to determine exactly what occurred. However, there was no signs of foul play and it appears to be a terrible accident.
