(Scroll down for video) A mother is happy to be alive and she is sharing her story to inspire others.

32-year-old Tiffany Johnson, a mother-of-three children in North Carolina, lost her arm while enjoying a nice vacation with her husband.

Tiffany and her husband James, were on the last leg of the Caribbean cruise when she was attacked by the shark.

The Charlotte couple was on a snorkeling excursion in the Bahamas, when Tiffany felt something bump into her from behind.

The shark grabbed her right arm in its mouth. As she tried to yank her hand out the shark, it clamped down and ripped off
part of her arm.

Luckily, doctors in the Bahamas were able to stop the bleeding. Next, the couple had to deal with passports and customs so that Tiffany can be transferred to a hospital in North Carolina.

The couple was informed that a Medevac flight to Carolinas Medical Center would cost them $16,000.

They had no idea if their insurance company would pay for it and they did not have that amount of money out of pocket. To their great surprise, the Medevac company offered to pick up the cost.

Tiffany has since undergone several surgeries and is expected to get a prosthesis soon.

A GoFundMe page was set up for the couple. The “Tiffany’s Tragedy into Testimony” GoFundMe campaign has raised $19,200 of their $150,000 goal so far.
