Buffalo police said that they have arrested 22-year-old Crystal Farish, after being accused of using a candle wax warmer to burn the knees of 11-year-old Grace Scott.

In court, Farish pleaded guilty to one count of endangering the welfare of an incompetent child.

Erie County Court Judge Michael Pietruszka sentenced Farish to serve six months in prison followed by five years of probation.

According to the police investigation, Kelly Scott hired Farish to babysit Grace. When Kelly came home, Farish told her that Grace had wounds on her knees.

At first, Farish said that they burn wounds were the result of her knees being dragged along on the carpet of the home.

Later, after doctors determined that the wounds were caused by a hot object, Farish admitted to using a candle wax warmer to burn the child.
