A dog owner is in trouble for drunk driving after her vet called police to report that she arrived at an appointment one week early, according to police in Canada.
York Regional Police said that a Georgina resident has been charged with impaired-related offenses after she brought her dog in for its veterinarian appointment one week early.
On Wednesday, shortly after 10:00 a.m., police were called by a citizen who had expressed concern for the well-being of a person that had arrived by car with her dog at a Newmarket veterinary clinic, one week early for an appointment.
The dog owner appeared to be “out of it,” and possibly intoxicated. When officers arrived, they located the woman sitting in her car in the parking lot.
When officers spoke with her, there was a strong smell of alcohol, and she was exhibiting signs of being impaired.
She was placed under arrest and taken to #1 District headquarters in the Town of Newmarket for a breath test, where she blew more than three times the legal limit.
The dog was left in the care of the veterinary clinic. The 44-year-old woman was charged with impaired care or control, over 80 care or control.
