(Scroll down for video) A young boy shot and killed a man while playing with a gun.

The mother of the 4-year-old Yasmeen Brown, said that she took her son to her brother’s house in West Helena, Arkansas, where they hung out with a few of his friends.

She said that she had no idea there was a gun within the reach of the child inside the house.

At about 5:40 p.m., the boy found a gun in the house and he brought it outside. He pulled the trigger and hit 29-year-old Courtney Craig.

Friends quickly drove him to a hospital, where he died.

The mother was questioned, but not arrested. She is under investigation for possible failure in the protection and endangerment of a minor.

Police chief James Smith explained that the shooting took place after the boy found a semi-automatic pistol outside the house.

Brown and her 4-year-old son were questioned by authorities and the Department of Children Services, before the decision was made to remove him from her custody.

Three men who were at the scene of the shooting, were arrested on charges of tampering with evidence.

Police said that the men removed the gun and other evidence from the crime scene.

Nicholas Harvey and Marvin Speed were charged with tampering with evidence and gun possession. Antwon Speed was charged with tampering with evidence.

Police have not confirmed the reports that claim Craig was the boyfriend of the boy’s mother.
