(Scroll down for video) A teenager was arrested for stabbing a girl to death during a fight in Portland, Oregon.

Two group of girls got into a fight at the Speedway gas station near the intersection of N. 21st Street and Rowan Street.

19-year-old Tiffany James and her sister were also among the group of girls.

At some point, James grabbed a knife and stabbed 14-year-old Madison Branch from the rival group. Branch was rushed to a hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries.

James was arrested on charges of murder. The teen’s attorney asked the judge to allow her to be on house arrest while she is awaiting trial.

The judge denied the request and set her bond at $100,000 cash.

The James family said that their daughter was acting in self-defense as she and her younger sister have been bullied by the victim for two years.

The victim’s family admit that James’ younger sister was a victim of bullying, but they denied that Madison had any part in the bullying.

They also said that James is an adult and she should have been able to resolve the fight in another manner rather than resorting to violence and murder.
