(Scroll down for video) A couple will have to wait a half a year to consummate their marriage after the groom was arrested at his reception.

Police were called to the Pines Restaurant and Banquet Hall in North Smithfield, Rhode Island, after a groom and workers got into an argument.

According to police, 32-year-old Frank Redding was arrested on Saturday, at his wedding reception after he broke some items at the venue.

Police said that Redding was arguing with a family member in the parking lot of the Banquet Hall. An employee saw him consuming alcohol that was bought at their facility.

Redding allegedly threatened to kill a staff member. The staff member went back inside and the groom followed him.
Redding is accused of breaking bottles and throwing chairs inside the hall and assaulting another staff member.

Police arrested Redding, who violated his parole with his actions. In court, he immediately pleaded no contest to simple assault and vandalism.

Redding was sentenced to one year of probation, and a one-year suspended sentence. However, on the parole violation, he was ordered to serve six months in the Adult Correctional Institutions (ACI).

The parole was for an unrelated charge of domestic breaking and entering, domestic simple assault and domestic felony assault.
