(Scroll down for video) A mother is upset that police keep harassing her son while he “is just trying to perform and make money.”

Sheriff’s deputies in Georgia, said that they were allowed to attend the party as a public invitation was posted to social media.

Rapper Montel Whitaker, aka M. Deezy, was set to perform at the Hoops Bar and Grill in Newnan, where he invited friends, family and the public for a “welcome home bash,” after he was released from prison.

Police said that the restaurant owner was under surveillance for months, as officers suspected that he allowed patrons to smoke drugs on the premises.

They used the opportunity from the open invitation to attend the rapper’s welcome home party and discovered that many people had guns and drugs, in violation of the terms of their probation.

Police arrested 25 people at the party and the restaurant was shut down.
