Police show off mugshot of burglar who was punched in the face after breaking into home

A burglar got punched in the face after breaking into a home while the owner was present, according to police in North Carolina.

Carolina Beach police said that they have arrested 28-year-old John Alexander Bracken, after being accused of kicking in the door of the home and trying to steal valuables.

Bracken has been charged with first-degree burglary, injury to real property and injury to personal property. He was booked into the New Hanover County jail, and his bail has been set at $7,500.

According to the police investigation, the incident unfolded on Saturday, at around 9:00 p.m. Bracken kick in the door of the home located in the 500 block of Monroe Avenue.

The homeowner confronted Bracken, and a struggle broke out.

The homeowner punched Bracken numerous times in the face.

Police officers who arrived at the scene, found Bracken lying on the ground in the front yard of the home. The homeowner did not suffer any injuries.

Police published Bracken’s mugshot, showing how he suffered numerous blows to the face. Bracken suffered a black, busted lip and multiple cuts to the face.
