(Scroll down for video) A baby and a toddler died in a hot car after their mother tried to teach them a lesson about going out of the home alone, according to police in Texas.
The Parker County Sheriff’s Office said that they have arrested 24-year-old Cynthia Marie Randolph, after being accused of locking her two children inside her car as a punishment for going out of the home without permission.
Randolph has been charged with two counts of causing serious bodily injury to a child. She was booked into the Parker County Jail, and her bail has been set at $200,000.
According to the police investigation, 1-year old Cavanaugh Ramirez and 2-year old Juliet Ramirez were not being supervised when they walked out of their mother’s home located 200 block of Rambling Loop.
Randolph went looking for them, and the kids were found inside the car. Randolph locked them inside the hot car to teach them a lesson and to punish them for going out of the home alone.
Randolph went inside the house and smoked marijuana. She went to sleep for several hours, and when she woke up, the children were unresponsive.
They were rushed to the hospital, were the kids were pronounced dead. The temperatures had reached approximately 96 degrees at the time.
