(Scroll down for video) A mother allowed her baby to drown in a bathtub while she was busy talking with people on Facebook, according to police in Texas.

The Parker County Sheriff’s Office said that they have arrested 21-year-old Cheyenne Summer Stuckey, after her 6-month-old daughter Zayla Hernandez, drowned in the bathtub of their home.

Stuckey has been charged with injury to a child. She was booked into the Parker County Jail, pending a bail hearing.

According to the police investigation, Stuckey placed Hernandez in the bathtub, and she left the water running. Stuckey then went out of the bathroom and began messaging people on Facebook, forgetting about her daughter.

After talking with two people on Facebook for 19 minutes, Stuckey went back to check on Hernandez, but she was already floating in the water.

She called for help, but paramedics were unable to revive the girl. Hernandez was taken to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

An autopsy showed that the girl died from drowning. The baby’s 4-year-old twin sisters and 2-year-old brother were removed from the home and placed into foster care.

Stuckey told investigators that she became distracted with Facebook, and forgot about her daughter in the bathtub.
