A woman was left penniless and widowed after her much younger husband was killed.

59-year-old Diane De Zoysa from Edinburgh, Scotland, said that she met her husband, 26-year-old Priyanjana, while she was on vacation in Sri Lanka.

Priyanjana worked in a hotel and the two began dating about six years ago. They kept in touch after she went home.

Diana returned to Sri Lanka seven months later, and the two decided to get married. She sold her house and she moved to her husband’s homtoewn in Colombo.

Diana bought a home for the couple. However, she bought the home in her husband’s family name. Diana also bought her husband a new car.

She claims that people began extorting money from her husband as they thought that the couple was rich. Diana said that her husband was shot and killed by a gang when he refused to hand over money.

Sadly, Diana has found out what she believes is a marriage certificate, showing that her husband was married to a woman his age. Diana said that her husband was away several times for days at a time and she now fears that she has been used.

However, Diana lost everything. She hired a lawyer to figure out if she can get her house back as she placed it in his family’s name.

She allegedly spent a total of £100,000 ($127,000) on her home, car and other items for her husband who she now lost.

Diana is now desperate to return to Scotland, but she does not know if she will ever recover from the emotional and financial loss.
