Two men arrested for stealing free newspapers

Two men in the United Kingdom, were surprised when police officers arrested them for taking bundles of newspapers, which were slated to be handed out for free.

London police said that they have arrested 35-year-old Marcel Javier Larezserrano and 30-year-old Jhon Mejia, after being accused of taking more than one copy of the free newspaper.

Both suspects have been charged with theft. If convicted, both suspects face up to seven years in prison.

According to the police investigation, Larezserrano and Mejia were at the London Bridge train station, where they saw piles of the London Evening Standard newspaper.

The London Evening Standard newspaper is given away free of charge to commuters at the London Bridge train station.

For an unknown reason, Larezserrano and Mejia took several copies of the free newspaper.

Police were called to the scene, and they were both arrested.
