(Scroll down for video) Shocking cellphone video from an accident scene showed a luxury car split in half and each piece burning separately.

Police in Chicago, Illinois, said that the driver was speeding before he crashed the sports car, which was loaned to him for a charity car wash event.

21-year-old Alejandra “Ale” Damian of Joliet, who was a passenger in the car, was killed. Damian was a student at DePaul University.

The driver miraculously survived the crash and he fled from the scene.

After police tracked down the owner of the car, which was registered to a man in Indiana, he told them that 34-year-old Anthony Milder was driving the car.

Police went to his home. Sadly, he was no longer alive. He was reportedly found hanging. After an autopsy was completed, his death was ruled a suicide.

In the “Alejandra Damian’s Memorial” GoFundMe page, her family wrote: “Alejandra was a full spirited, ambitious, and loving daughter, sister, and friend to many. Those who knew Ale knew that her laugh and smile was enough to brighten up a room.”
