A human rights organization in Venezuela, has issued a report, condemning prison officials for torturing numerous prisoners who were arrested for protesting President Nicolas Maduro.

About 40 people were recently arrested in Valencia, Carabobo, after being accused of raiding a food factory during the ongoing protests against the president.

The 40 detainees were charged with rebellion and appeared before who judge who jailed 19 of them while sending home the others.

A 30-year-old man said that when he asked to be allowed to use a phone to call his mother, an officer told him “you are not in Disneyland.”

The 19 detainees reported that prison guards mixed human feces with raw pasta, and forced them to eat the disgusting dish.

When they refused to eat the pasta, the guards sprayed tear gas to force open their mouths. One prisoner was told that he was going to die in jail.

Guards gave him electric shocks and flooded his cell with tear gas.

The president however, denied the allegations, saying that police are heroes for ending the violent protest, and said that only water and tear gas were used.
