(Scroll down for video) A YouTube prankster has died after being shot by his own pregnant girlfriend, according to police in Minnesota.

The Norman County Sheriff’s Office said that they have arrested 19-year-old Monalisa Perez, after being accused of causing the death of 22-year-old Pedro Ruiz III.

Perez has been charged with manslaughter. She was booked into the Northwest Regional Corrections Center, and her bail has been set at $7,000.

If convicted, Perez faces up to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $20,000.

According to the police investigation, Perez and her boyfriend had a YouTube channel on which they posted pranks and stunts.

Perez was pregnant with Ruiz’s child, and they had one kid together.

On Monday, Ruiz wanted to shoot a video, in which Perez will shoot a gun in his direction while holding a book to stop the bullet from hitting him.

The reason behind the video was to get more likes and shares, and eventually more subscribers to their YouTube channel.

Before the shooting, Perez wrote: “Me and Pedro are probably going to shoot one of the most dangerous videos ever. His idea not mine.”

Perez grabbed a gun and shot at her boyfriend. Ruiz was holding a hardcover encyclopedia to stop the bullet, but it pierced through his chest.

Perez called police to their home in the 500 block of U.S. Highway 75. Paramedics tried to save Ruiz, but he was declared dead at the scene.
