(Scroll down for video) The family of 18-year-old Aidan Brown, are expressing their love and admiration to the man they call their hero after he gave his life to save their son.

Brown and his 19-year-old friend were walking in Denver, Colorado, in the early morning hours, when they were suddenly attacked by a stranger.

28-year-old DeJuan Stamps attacked Brown, and kicked him in the head until he fell unconscious.

Meanwhile, his female friend tried to intervene and get the attacker off of Brown. Stamps then turned on the woman, who did not want to be identified.

He repeatedly punched her in the face.

As Stamps was punching the woman, 62-year-old army veteran James Farmer Jr., who was sleeping in his car nearby, heard the commotion.

He came out of his car and grabbed a 2×4 from his trunk in order to stop the attacker.

Sadly, Stamps turned on Farmer and beat him to death.

Farmer left behind his fiancee, his son and five granddaughters, as well as several siblings, nieces and nephews.
