A 12-year-old boy is accused of stealing chemicals from the school’s lab in an attempt to kill an 11-year-old girl.

The boy who is a student at the Lekki British International School in Lagos, Nigeria, has been expelled after he was seen pouring sulphuric acid and ethanol into his classmate’s water bottle.

According to the school, the suspect was angry because the girl came in at the top spot in the first and second term exams at school.

The incident reportedly occurred at about 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, while the school was preparing for the third term exams.

The jealous student snuck into the school laboratory, and stole the acid and ethanol. He then mixed and poured the dangerous chemicals into the student’s bottle of water.

Luckily, two other students caught him in the act and quickly informed school officials.

When the suspect was questioned, he owned up to the crime, saying that he had been planning this for some time.

The 11-year-old girl’s family members were furious and said that despite the guilty confession, the school allowed the boy to sit in for the third term exam.

After the exam, the boy was suspended from school. People are now calling on police to take action against the boy so he does not harm anyone else.
