(Scroll down for video) An attorney is on the wrong side of the law after she began having a relationship with a gang member whom she represented.

36-year-old Alexis Plunkett was arrested, and she faces felony charges for providing a cell phone to jail inmates.

Police began investigating Plunkett, who worked as an attorney, after they learned that she was visiting known gang member 26-year-old Andrew Arevalo, at odd hours of the day.

Plunkett used her position as an attorney to visit Arevalo late at night. She also allowed him and another inmate to use her phone at the Clark County Detention Center on several occasions.

Police set up surveillance cameras inside the visitation room at the prison after becoming suspicious of Plunkett’s visits.

During three separate visits, the attorney was caught on camera kissing the inmate on the lips. She also posted the selfie of Arevalo kissing her on the cheek on her law firm’s Facebook page.

Plunkett claims that she has known Arevalo since 2012, and that she is in a romantic relationship with him.

Arevalo has felony convictions dating back to 2009. His latest arrest came after police found him with several guns, body armor and 23.7 grams of methamphetamine in his possession.
