Passenger picks up Uber car after driver drove over police officer and pinned him underneath

(Scroll down for video) An Uber passenger said that he thought his life was over when his driver suddenly accelerated the vehicle.

26-year-old Kenny Franklin of Florida, soon realized that the driver had suffered a seizure while at the wheel on Interstate 4 near I-275.

He quickly took control of the vehicle and steered it to the side of the road.

Franklin said that he got out of the vehicle, and a Florida State Trooper who witnessed the incident, pulled up behind them to asses the situation.

Soon, the driver regained consciousness, and in a state of confusion and panic, the he reversed, causing Officer Jack Hypes, 58, to fall and he was pinned under the car.

Franklin said that with his adrenaline rushing, he managed to lift the vehicle off of the officer.

Officer Hypes was taken to a hospital, where is being treated for non-life threatening injuries to his leg. The Florida Highway Patrol praised Franklin for being a hero and saving the officer’s life.
