(Scroll down for video) Commuters freaked out after seeing a woman feeding a raccoon on a New York City train.

Brooke Hogan of Australia, who works as a model, was on the Manhattan train when she saw the woman feeding her raccoon.

She quickly pulled out her cell phone and began recording. The video shows the woman petting the raccoon. The woman then took out a plastic bowl that contained some type of food.

The woman placed the bowl next to the raccoon’s head, and the animal licked the food from the container.

Commuters were shocked by the scene, and many riders got off at the next stop out of fear of being bitten by the wild animal.

The incident unfolded on the number 6 train on Tuesday. The raccoon occupied its own seat.

It is illegal to keep a raccoon as a pet without a license in New York City. The video of the incident was uploaded on Instagram, where it went viral.
