A mother was shocked to find her son bleeding and circumcised when he was returned to her after visiting his father for a few hours.

The 26-year-old mother of Nottingham, England, said that she was shocked when she opened her 3-month-old son’s diaper to find that he was bleeding.

She soon realized that he was circumcised without her permission.

The Nottinghamshire police investigated the case and learned that the baby’s grandparents, who are Muslim, had asked a general practitioner to circumcise their grandson.

Police decided that it was not a criminal matter, and the case was referred to the General Medical Council.

The mother said that her son, now 4, suffered repeated physical problems, including infections, since the operation. She tried to get justice for her son.

The mother said: “it is illegal to dock dogs’ tails. It seems like a dog has got more rights than my child.”

The mother eventually reached out to the anti-circumcision group Men Do Complain, and leading human rights lawyer Saimo Chahal QC, who demanded police take action against those responsible.

Detectives reopened the case and investigated the circumstances surrounding the circumcision, and they have arrested three people.

The suspects, whose names were not released, were charged with grievous bodily harm with intent.

The baby’s 44-year-old grandfather and a 47-year-old grandmother were also arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit grievous bodily harm.
