(Scroll down for video) A man managed to celebrate his birthday, propose to his girlfriend, and get arrested all at the same time, according to police in Oklahoma.

Muskogee police said that they have arrested 35-year-old Brandon Thompson, after officers noticed that he had six outstanding felony counts, including burglary, firearm possession and having a controlled dangerous substance.

The incident unfolded Tuesday, as Thompson and his girlfriend, Leandria Keith, were celebrating his birthday. When police showed up, Thompson knew exactly why they came.

After officers placed him in handcuffs, Thompson asked whether he could propose to his girlfriend. To his surprise, the officers allowed him to get on one knee and propose to Keith.

The officers recorded the proposal on a police body cam. The officers switched Thompson’s handcuffs from the back to the front in order to allow him to give Keith a ring.

Keith was very happy with the proposal and she said “yes.”

Thompson and Keith plan to get married once he resolves his legal troubles. Keith later called the marriage proposal “perfect.”

Keith said that the officers were “amazing” for allowing her boyfriend to propose to her.
