(Scroll down for video) A Muslim woman who wanted to hide a pregnancy from her parents, threw her newborn baby out of a window immediately after giving birth, according to police in Illinois.

Chicago police said that they have arrested 20-year-old Mubashra Uddin, after being accused of killing her baby, who was named by prosecutors as Jane.

At first, Uddin was charged with first-degree murder. Eventually, Uddin pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter. Cook County Judge Carol Howard sentenced Uddin to four years of probation.

According to the police investigation, Uddin had sex with her boyfriend and became pregnant.

Uddin kept quiet about her pregnancy because she did not want to upset her Muslim parents who did not approve of her having sex before marriage.

When Uddin gave birth to Jane, she threw the newborn baby out of the window of her apartment, which is located in the 800 block of West Eastwood Avenue.

A passerby found the injured baby on the ground and called for help. Paramedics who arrived at the scene, found the injured baby who was still breathing, and rushed her to the hospital.

She died an hour later.
