Flood causes dead bodies to float out of morgue and into streams in street after strong rainfall

People in Nigeria, were shocked to see dead bodies floating in the street, following strong rainfall, according to photos that were uploaded to the Internet.

The manager of the Toluwalase Hospital Morgue in Lagos, expressed his concern about the flooding after bodies floated out of the facility and into the street over the weekend.

Bolaji Oluwafemi said that he paid to place sandbags around the morgue to prevent such an incident in the furniture.

People in the area have complained about the bad sewer system, which causes massive flooding every time it rains.

Some people are sleeping in their cars due to fear of getting trapped during flooding. On Monday, Otunba Oladokun Street became flooded following a weekend of strong rainfall.

The Toluwalase Hospital Morgue, which is located on Otunba Oladokun Street, also became flooded, causing bodies to float out into the streams on the street.

People took photos of the dead bodies floating in the water, and uploaded the images on social media sites. Governor Akinwunmi Ambode was urged to fix the broken drainage system in the area.
