(Scroll down for video) A wife and beachgoers watched in horror as a man died while parasailing.

The prominent Australian businessman plunged to his death while parasailing in Thailand, as his wife recorded his adventure.

In the video, 70-year-old Roger John Hussey was seen smiling to his wife, who was standing in Kata Beach, in Phuket, as he prepared to participate in the water sports activity on Wednesday.

However, moments after being lifted into the air, Hussey dropped more than 100 feet into the water below.

Emergency services rushed him to the nearby Patong Hospital, where he died of his injuries.

The Perth businessman and his wife Budsabong Thongsangka, were born in Thailand. They were on the 12th day of their vacation when he died.

Police arrested the boat operator, Montien Chandeng, 45, and the female staff member, Rungroj Rakscheep, 38, who accompanied Hussey on the parasail.

The are both facing charges of recklessness leading to death.

The woman reportedly told police that Hussey accidentally pulled on a hook that led to him unstrapping his harness, causing him to fall to the sea below.
