(Scroll down for video) A teacher was given a short prison sentence despite admitting to having sex with her teenage student.

54-year-old Theresa Gunn, who taught at the Gwinnett High School in Atlanta, Georgia, admitted that she hosted a party at her home and plied the male victim and two female students with marijuana “under her supervision before having sex with the boy.”

However, the music teacher did not take responsibility for her actions. Gunn told the judge that the 17-year-old student tricked her into having sex with her “like a used car salesman.”

Gunn claimed that she was vulnerable because she was going through a divorce and she was lonely, but she assured the court that she “never loved the boy.”

The student told the court that Gunn made his adolescence “a living hell.”

Gunn’s attorney asked for house arrest, but the judge declined because under state law, even if the encounter was consensual, any sexual contact between a teacher and a student is illegal.

Gwinnett County Superior Court Judge Warren Davis sentenced Gunn to 90 days in jail and ten years probation.

The judge reportedly said that Gunn is not the person that needs to be in jail for years, but that she betrayed the trust that parents placed in her.

Gunn resigned from her position at the South Gwinnett High School.
