Uber driver drags police officer with his car after being pulled over

(Scroll down for video) An Uber driver became violent after a police officer pulled him over for a traffic violation, according to police in Texas.

The Dallas Police Department said that they have arrested 52-year-old Jeffrey Wilks, after being accused of deliberately injuring a police officer with his vehicle.

Wilks has been charged with aggravated assault of a public servant and possession of a controlled substance. He was booked into the Dallas County Jail, and his bail has been set at $3,000.

According to the police investigation, the police officer was controlling traffic at the Dallas Love Field airport on Friday, at around 6:00 p.m., when he pulled over Wilks for a traffic violation.

When the police officer approached the vehicle, Wilks sped away, dragging the deputy about 10 feet in the 6000 block of Denton Drive.

The police officer suffered minor injuries. Wilks told police that he worked for Uber. While searching the vehicle, the officer found a controlled substance.
