(Scroll down for video) Several police officers helped remove a container that was stuck on the head of a bear, according to police in California.

The La Verne Police Department said that the incident unfolded on Saturday, at around 8:30 a.m.

People visiting the Angeles National Forest, called police to report a bear in distress. The bear that was looking for food, got its head stuck in a plastic container.

The bear tried to remove it, but was unable to help itself.

People were afraid to help the bear so they called police. Police officer who arrived at the scene, assisted the bear in the 2500 block of Jasmine Court.

Officer Weaver held the bear down while another deputy removed the plastic container from its head. The bear then ran off in the wild.

The animal was not inured as a result of the container being stuck on its head. Police took video of the rescue and uploaded it to Facebook where it went viral.
