A woman was granted a divorce after proving that her husband ignored her text messages, according to court documents in Taiwan.

The 50-year-old woman of Hsinchu, who was identified as Lin, told the court that her 40-year-old husband treated her like a stranger.

Judge Kao heard that the couple got married 5 years ago. Lin moved into her husband’s home, which he shared with his family.

Lin worked to support the household.

Lin complained that she was not allowed to take long showers due to concerns about the cost despite the fact that she was paying all the bills.

Lin said that her husband and his family were very unfriendly to her. Several months ago, Lin was involved in a car accident, and she was taken to a hospital.

Lin sent her husband numerous text messages via the Line app, but her husband did not respond to them.

Lin showed Judge Kao the two blue checks next to each text message, indicating that her husband has read them.

Judge Kao granted the woman a divorce, saying that ignoring messages is enough to show that the marriage was beyond repair.
