(Scroll down for video) A mother left her baby in a hot car for many hours while she was getting her hair done at a salon, causing her daughter to die, according to police in Georgia.

DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office said that they have arrested 25-year-old DiJanelle Etta Fowler, after being accused of driving around with her dead baby in her car for many hours before calling police.

Fowler has been charged with murder, cruelty to children and concealing a death. She was booked into the DeKalb County Jail, and she is being held without bail.

According to the police investigation, at around 10:00 a.m., Fowler went to the Northlake Tower Festival Shopping Center.

Fowler parked her vehicle, and left 1-year-old Skylar Fowler in her car. DiJanelle then went to a hair salon, where she spent the following 6 hours.

At around 4:00 p.m., she returned to her car, but Skylar was already died as a result of the heat. DiJanelle covered her child with clothes and drove around for several hours.

She then went to the Emory Hospital, where she checked herself into the emergency room, complaining that she had a seizure.

She then called police to say that her baby was unresponsive in her car.

At first, police thought that the baby died while her mother was being treated for the seizure, but an autopsy revealed that Skylar died many hours before DiJanelle arrived at the Emory Hospital.
