(Scroll down for video) The defense attorney of a woman who was accused of having lesbian sex with her students, told a judge that she was “truly in love with the girls,” according to court documents in Pennsylvania.

Millerstown police said that they have arrested 33-year-old Randi Lynn Zurenko, after being accused of having sex with two girls in public parks.

Zurenko has been charged with 13 counts of institutional sexual assault, 152 counts of sexual abuse of children, 33 counts of unlawful contact with minors, 13 counts of corruption of minors, and 20 counts of disseminating obscene materials to minors.

Dauphin County President Judge Richard A. Lewis sentenced Zurenko to serve up to 23 months in prison after pleading guilty to institutional sexual assault, unlawful contact with minors, corruption of minors, possessing child pornography and disseminating obscene materials to minors.

In addition to the prison sentence, Zurenko will be under four years of probation and will have to perform 500 hours of community service.

She also has to register as a sex offender for 25 years in the state of Pennsylvania.

Her lawyer, Lee Cohen, asked the judge to sentence Zurenko to house arrest because his client was a good person and truly in love with the girls.

According to the police investigation, Zurenko is married and has five children. She was a teacher at the Bishop McDevitt in Harrisburg.

Officials at the school once praised her as the most inspiring teacher. While she was a teacher, she had a sexual relationship with two girls.

She gave them alcohol, had sex with them, and took nude photos of them with her phone. The teacher also sent naked selfies to the girls.

The school has placed Zurenko on paid administrative leave.
